ArbolApp 1.6.3

Arbolapp is a free app that is accessible to all users, and it is based on the scientific research conducted at the CSIC's Royal Botanic Garden. The app provides a comprehensive collection of information, including:

• 143 species described on 122 information sheets, which encompass all native trees as well as the most commonly found trees in the wild in Andorra, continental Portugal, peninsular Spain, and the Balearic Islands. Each species entry consists of a distribution map, a concise description, and one or more photographs.
• Two search options (directed and open) that facilitate the intuitive identification of species.
• Over 370 illustrations that assist in species identification.
• More than 500 photos showcasing the distinctive features of each tree.
• A glossary containing approximately 90 terms.

One of the advantages of Arbolapp is that it does not require an internet connection to function, making it highly useful for excursions into natural environments. The app's content is designed for individuals who wish to broaden their understanding or enhance their knowledge of the trees found in their surroundings. Consequently, the language used and explanations provided are presented in an easily comprehensible manner, without sacrificing substance.

Arbolapp is an initiative spearheaded by the esteemed Spanish research association, the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), under the guidance of its Deputy Vice Chair of Scientific Culture and the Royal Botanic Garden. Responsibility for the content lies with Felipe Castilla Lattke, who has meticulously developed the species information sheets and identification keys, and has contributed the majority of the photos from his personal image bank. Furthermore, funding for this project has been provided by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
